Author's notes

"The Legend of Zelda and the Lampshade of No Real Significance" is a Newgrounds flash game created by "Super Flash Bros". This looks like a basic Zelda game as a shitpost and a lot of references are included. I saw this game while watching a "Shortest Speedruns compilation" video and I thought that I would be cool if this game was on this site.

I don't think that the Newgrounds API affects the loading time of this game as I got the same thing in Flash Player.

Routing: Pretty much the RTA route

  • Head into the tunnel, Fight the lampshade boss by unplugging it. (Note that dialogue is super slow to go by)
  • Get the lamp and climb up the ladder.
  • In Hyscule, the right screen has terrible collision. So, we can abuse it and walk through most of the game.
  • To get onto the bridge, I have to press down for a few frames and then go left or I will get stuck.
  • I place the lamp on the altar and timer ends after the last dialogue script
