Comments
- So last year we had a [6496M|"2 players, Low%"] for the Contra, which was good to watch, and from then I had the idea to make something similar to it in Super C. I would go two players but I'm most comfortable with single player runs, as the way I'm TASing is quite traditional and I don't have much experience with 2 players as well.
- Here I chose deathless, as most runs for this game are already going for final boss skip, which requires many deaths and, in my opinion, it's removing quite a lot for this category. I would love to see the final boss dying quick to regular weapon myself :D
- This category seemed a bit intimidating at first because in so many areas you would feel you'd need extra weapons to pas through, otherwise you'd lose so much time.... Turns out it wasn't that impossible, especially Area 7 where bigger enemies have higher HP and very narrow window to shoot them, luckily with some RNG manipulation, they weren't that difficult.
- Another instance was Area 4 boss. I already had an experience with this boss but that was around 14 years ago where I didn't have much experience with TASing. However, using just the regular weapon is not that smooth, so the fight was a bit longer
- Also, I'm glad I was able to get the full turret glitch in the first boss, leaving just one turret to turn on the orb, making the fight a lot faster. Basically, the game has only limited slots to load objects on screen at the same time (I believe 10 or so), and that including the shots from enemies. With careful RNG manipulation and position, you can manage to fill all slots before the boss fight starts, making three of its turrets unable to load. Thanks to Soig for his explanation to this glitch.
Closing
- This was a really fun project. I'm happy it turned out to be much smoother than I thought and the final result was satisfying as well, so I hope you enjoy the run as I did while making it :D
- Thanks to all Super C TASers. Their runs were incredibly helpful, especially the [3239M|"1 player"] TAS by Xipo, feos and Koh1fds, and the [2276M|"pacifst, 1 player"] TAS by Heidman.
